Koʻu Moʻolelo – My Story
I was born and raised in Hawaii, from the country in Kahaluʻu. I first started my real commercial boating career at Heʻeia Keʻa Pier in 1965. From there I worked on many different boats, fishing, diving, salvage, charter boats, and Tugs. I retired in 2012 as a Tugboat Captain in the Oil and Fuel industry. Continuing my passion for the Charter boat industry and sharing my love of Hawaii with the tourists as I have done for years, I decided to start my own non-profit tour company. Captain Kimo's Hawaiian Adventures is a Hawaiian Culture and Ethnic Awareness company that shares these stories while touring the coastline of Hilo, on the island of Hawaii.
I share these stories with the tourist guests, kamaʻainas, and especially the youth, to continue and perpetuate our profound Hawaiian Culture. Not only do my guests enjoy the moʻolelo (stories), but they also get to participate in a part of the Hawaiian Culture, taking back with them even some ʻōlelo (Hawaiian language).
